Summary
As one of five Vice Presidents reporting directly to the President/CEO, the V.P. for Marketing is the senior executive at the Museum responsible for driving attendance to the Museum and all of our various programs, guiding the creation of compelling and consistent messages that communicate the Museum's brand, mission and vision, and leveraging all channels of communication at our disposal to raise the profile of the Museum and its value to our world. With a staff of 20 professionals, this person is responsible for marketing, advertising, public relations, brand management, internal communications, the Museum website, market research, promotion and publications.
This is an especially important job now at this time in the Museum's history. Next year we begin the multi-year rollout of a magnificent series of major new iconic permanent exhibitions, dramatically increase public awareness of the Museum's outstanding science education programs for teachers and students and package all of it in an exciting new brand image for MSI. These new exhibitions and programs are the result of a seven-year plan and development program, supported by a $205 million capital campaign. They are intended to transform the Museum's image and impact, and the new Vice President of Marketing will play a key leadership role in making this
happen
Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the messaging and communication for the Museum’s transformative exhibits and
enhanced educational programming

Responsible for the Museum’s image and visibility through its rebranding efforts.

Develop and manage the annual budget for the division

Oversee market research efforts that may require quantitative and qualitative instruments designed
to understand demographics, audience perceptions and interests, and key attendance drivers
Qualifications
