CANDIDATES - OUR PROCESS

Selectivity.

We discover quality candidates like you in a variety of ways. We may call you. Or you might have called us. Or you were referred to us. Or we have your information in our database. Whatever way we get in touch, this is our process:

Step 1: We have an initial conversation to understand your goals, the status of your career, and your needs at this time. If we have an assignment that’s a fit, and you’re interested, we then discuss details about the company, the culture, the position, geography, and compensation range. If you contacted us, and your background isn’t a match to any of our assignments, but you’re a candidate we’re interested in, we’ll keep your information on file for future opportunities.

Step 2: Upon receiving your updated resume in “Word” format, we promise to acknowledge the receipt of your resume promptly. We then determine if an opportunity is an appropriate fit, and with your approval, we’ll submit your background to our client. In most cases, we submit more than one candidate.

Step 3: We then receive feedback from our client and get as much information as possible to determine their interest in you.

Step 4: If they’re interested, we make arrangements for all client interviews, which can be by phone or in person. If travel is involved, we work closely with you and the client to make the arrangements as smooth as possible. Unless you’re told otherwise, travel is always at the client’s expense.

Step 5: We gather feedback from both you and the client to get impressions about the fit, match of skill set with job requirements, connection with hiring manager, career path, goals, and motivation. If there’s continued interest from both sides, we arrange follow-up interviews as necessary.

Step 6: If either side does not want to continue, we attempt to be as positive and constructive as possible, since it’s typically a good learning experience for both you and the client. However, if there’s continued interest to the point of making an offer, we work closely with the client to construct a package that’s attractive and consistent with your goals.  At this point you may be asked for references for a formal background check.

Step 7: If you accept the offer, we make sure all the details are confirmed—such as base salary, incentives, benefits, title, and relocation (if necessary). We negotiate a start date, and, if necessary, even help you with giving notice to your current employer. We follow up with you after the move to determine if there are any loose ends that need to be tied up.

Finally, we know most searches are unique and often present different types of challenges. But whatever they are, we work to make sure your needs and our client’s needs are as close a match as possible.
